Collaborative Programs

Collaborative online degrees increase access to education by combining two powerful strategies: inter-institutional collaboration and online content delivery. Through collaboration, institutions can share the costs to develop programs that otherwise might be prohibitively resource intensive. And through online delivery, courses can be taught by any participating institution to students located anywhere.

Advanced Learning Technologies offers a variety of services to support inter-institutional development of online degree programs. Those services include: facilitation of administrative and curricular planning; Vista training and instructional design consultation; modest start-up and course development funding for strategic Board approved programs.

Three major collaborative online degree programs and one online certificate program have been supported by Advanced Learning Technologies. eCore®WebBSIT , and the European Union Studies Program follow a Co-Development Model, while the WebMBA® follows a Contribution Model.

Collaborative Programs Roadmap
The Collaborative Program Roadmap provides basic information about the issues that institutions need to address in deciding to develop any online program, but collaborative programs in particular.

*While under a consulting contract with the University System of Georgia Board of Regents' Advanced Learning Technologies unit, Dr. Joanne Dehoney produced the original documents found within the Collaborative Roadmap (2002-2004). In 2005, the content and navigation for the Collaborative Roadmap was modified by Advanced Learning Technologies.*

The Collaborative Roadmap is constantly evolving with the latest revisions occurring in 2007.
