Learning Resources

One of ALT’s primary goals is to evaluate and develop tools and models which support the strategic use of technology for instruction. Our follow-up goal is to distribute that evaluative information, and the tools which we have developed, to the faculty and staff throughout the University System. The following tools are currently available for all faculty and staff within the USG:

Course Mapping Tool

A tool that allows designers to create a template that can define a preferred course structure. Users can then enter existing instructional content through the designer defined wizard, creating a detailed map for their course.

Electronic Campus

The Southern Regional Educational Board’s (SREB) Electronic Campus, Advanced Learning Technologies (ALT), and the Institutional Coordinators (IC) of the individual institutions of the University System of Georgia work closely in the promotion and delivery of distance learning in the State of Georgia.

Facilitating Learning Online (FLO)

A cohort-based course designed for faculty who are or might be facilitating online courses in the future. The course models a spectrum of online learning practices using interactive and collaborative experiences.

Interactive Media Object Development (iMOD®)

A software tool that enables faculty to design and create 14 distinct, interactive, multimedia learning activities for use in online or face-to-face instructional environments.

USG SHARE Learning Object Repository

USG SHARE is the University System of Georgia's digital instructional resource exchange. The repository contains high quality, reusable instructional resources that can be used across the curriculum to support teaching and learning.

Security Resources

Developed under the guidance of the Security Committee of the Administrative Committee on Information Technology ( ACIT), two online courses are available for downloading through WebCT: IT Security for the End User and IT Security for Administrators.

Student Online Readiness Tool (SORT)

This interactive tool helps students make an educated decision about whether to consider enrolling in a online courses.
