ALT Project: Security Resources
Project Description
To assist USG institutions to promote IT security awareness, ALT and the Regents Administrative Committee Information Technology (ACIT) developed two online courses on IT security. One course focuses on security awareness for end-users, including faculty, students and staff. The second course provides more in-depth information security information for IT administrators.
Course 1: IT Security for the End User
Oriented towards students and staff, this course warns that despite all the security measures taken by institutions, personal information remains vulnerable at all times.
Course 2: Security for IT Administrators
Primarily oriented toward computer administrators, this course reminds all administrative personnel who work with sensitive data that IT security is everyone’s job.
Audience
These courses were developed as a system-wide resource to be used by USG institutions to meet campus IT security awareness needs.
Access to Courses
These courses were developed to be offered in WebCT Vista and WebCT Campus Edition. USG institutions interested in utilizing these resources should contact their campus WebCT Vista Institutional Administrators.
